Lived in and loved since 2003

Where better living is part of the plan

From the moment you arrive, the feeling at Addison is warm and welcoming. This is a community that's been built and grown according to a master plan. Where every detail, from the architecture and infrastructure through to the landscaping, sustainability and social features, has been carefully considered to meet the needs of residents, now and as the neighbourhood evolves.

The team behind Addison, McConnell Property, not only tested new ground here but also set the standard for master-planned communities across the country. These homes are modern, architecturally-designed and comfortable. The outdoor spaces and streetscapes are green and inviting. Addison is a safe, secure environment where neighbours interact and get to know one another. Where kids play freely. Where parks, schools, public transport, shops and local cafés, bars and restaurants are close by. Where property values continue to grow, and where there’s an easy sense of community and belonging. A great place to call home.

Studies show homes in master planned communities like Addison enjoy a premium. Residents here have experienced this first hand, with property values achieving a higher than average increase compared to houses in surrounding areas.

Shopping

Places to shop, eat and meet

Addison may be in a peaceful, park-like world of its own, but make no mistake, it’s also close to the action. Within easy walking distance you’ll find Southgate Home Centre, with fresh and on-the-go food stores, all you need for the home (big retailers like Mitre 10 Mega, Briscoes and Bed Bath & Beyond) and a wide range of services (banks, a hairdresser and post shop) designed to make life easier. Takanini Village is also nearby, featuring excellent main street shopping, a medical centre and supermarkets. Two more malls, Manukau City and Botany are just a short drive way. And if you want to pop out for a coffee, you’re spoilt for choice as there are there multiple cafés, bars and restaurants between Papakura, Takanini and Pukekohe. Not to be missed, Clevedon Village Market (best known 'Sunday drive' market in the south east of Auckland) is also a wonderful outing in the weekend.

Parks

Nature at your door

It’s no secret that Kiwis love to spend time outdoors, and being close to nature makes us healthier and happier. Addison is designed with this in mind, with 40% of the entire development made up of ‘green space’ in the form of beautifully  landscaped walkways, tree-lined streets, shared commons and established parks. As a bonus, Addison shares a border with Bruce Pulman Park; a huge 55ha outdoor playground featuring world-class sports facilities, a gym and recreation centre, ponds, picnic areas and fitness trails. Venture a little further afield and you’ll also find golf, bowling, pony and polo clubs, vineyards and orchards, Pahurehure Inlet (a harbour spot popular with kayakers and water lovers) and the stunning Hunua ranges, which is great for tramping.

“Addison is recognised by the Ministry for the Environment as an example of best practice for urban design.”

SCHOOLS

Smarter choices, brighter futures

One of the first things families do when they move to a new area is check out the schools. Addison has a number of options available, including Papakura Normal, Takanini Primary, Cosgrave Primary, Conifer Grove Primary, Greenmeadows Intermediate, Papakura Intermediate and Papakura High School. Two of these schools, Papakura Normal and Takanini Primary, are located right at the heart of the community, within easy walking or cycling distance for the kids. You can find out more about these schools by clicking through to their websites.

More information can also be found on the Government’s Education Review Office website – go to ero.govt.nz and type the school’s name into the search bar.

TRANSPORT

Get to where you want to go, faster

Whether you’re driving your own car or catching public transport, Addison is an easy and convenient starting point for any journey. It’s close to two major Motorways and a main arterial route, as well as multiple public bus routes and Auckland’s main commuter train network. You can reach local bus stops and Takanini Rail Station by foot, which will fast-track you to the central city. The  Southern motorway is only a few kilometres away, just jump on at the Takanini Interchange. Or if you are heading out west or to the airport, the new South Western motorway link is also handy.

RESIDENTS SOCIETY

Better living, for generations to come

When everyone is on the same page, great things happen. This is the case with Addison, where the Residents’ Society works hard to protect your investment by ensuring quality standards across the community are being met, as set out in the master plan and design guidelines. There is a Constitution and a Deed of Covenant that all property owners follow – which helps with consistency, and guarantees that the neighbourhood will continue to look good, function well, and be an appealing place to live for years to come. The Addison Residents’ Society committee is made up of volunteers who are appointed annually, new members are welcome. Find out more here
